REVERIE

She know a place where hearts may blend
In perfect friendship, cool repose--
Where daily cares may wane and fade
There peace and quiet doth abide:
A place where sounds of loon and lake
Extend a tried and true escape.
As evening's blanket gently stills
The birds and creatures of the day,
Here, soon a shimmering swath of light
Bespeaks a moonlit, awesome sight
Upon the water, tunneled bright.
Where early morning mists may drape
A curtain, touching sky and lake,
Yet, lifting gently doth reveal
A picture words cannot describe.
Her prayer, dear Lord, that you might pattern
A corner such as this in Heaven.
