POEM FOR MOTHER

Dear Mother, is she could pen a poem for you,
A little poem, a line or two,
Of Junes and moons, and silly tunes,
Like a cat in a hat smelled like a rat,
And little Willie wet nose slipped on a tack,
Just a little poem to make you laugh,
Your blue eyes crinkled all around,
She'd give her world, her all, to hear the sound,
Of you laughing at her poem so silly.
But you are gone, and she's a sad and lonely little Willie.
