HOME RUN BALL

With a warm gentle breeze they all settled in
And waited, for the game to begin

With the greasy smell of hot dogs
And the sour smell of beer
A young man yelled,
"Get 'em right here"

A big man,
Lumbered to the plate,
People all around them
Said he was really great

The pitcher eyed the man
And nervously he paced,
This was an important game,
This was the pennant race

He pitched the ball,
Very, very fast,
And then all they heard
Was an incredibly, deafening crack

The ball flew up over the outfield wall,
And guess what, he caught that home run ball.
