DREAMS OF SEATTLE

He knows the city in his dreams,
He hears its thoughts, hopes, and screams.
They are both one and the same,
Lost in the shadows and the rain.
At night, on the needle's point, they sit.
During the day the abuse and wish for night.
Light is their curse, darkness is their right.
Deep in the shadows they share their fears,
Safe from your prying eyes.
Within the night they run and play,
But never truly escaping the day.
As dawn breaks the city's promise is heard,
Soft and sweet, like a bird.
"In the day, when you cry and wish for a friend.
Know this, I am in your heart till the end."
