D-DAY: THE SOLDIER'S SORROW

Blood flowing in little streams
Young soldiers give up dreams
Everyone is full of fright
There is sobbing in the night
Guns exploding here and there
The smell of death is in the air
Innocent people being shot
Give up now? He thinks not!
Parts of bodies washed ashore
Causing sorrow more and more
Fighting the way to Omaha Beach
It seems too far to ever reach
The frightful roar of D-Day
Kids are shot as they play
Families give up brothers, fathers, and friends
To go to Europe, the war to end.
