BETRAYED

She's afraid she will love you forever,
Despite all her plots and schemes.
Though she's tried and she's tried to forget you,
She's betrayed by her thoughts and her dreams.

She would almost welcome amnesia,
If it could prevent thoughts of you.
Although thinking of you is so painful,
It seems to be all she can do.

In dreams she still sees your image;
Your voice and your laughter she hears.
Though she knows that you are gone forever,
Her dreams tell her you're still near.

Your kisses can still burn right through her;
She can still feel your loving touch.
Why must her senses betray her?
And, why does she love you so much?
